Favorite Spots and Directions for Overland Park Clients

There are 83 parks to choose from in Overland Park. We have done lots of legwork over the past ten years to find the ones that photograph best!

Strang Park
– 89th and Farley Street. A Cute little park close to the library. It offers wide open green space, trees, and a cute little grey barn.

Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park- 12500 119th Street. 79 acres. Features a small pond and a picturesque walking trail. It is filled with geocaches, if your family enjoys those, it would be a great theme for a family session.

Sumercrest Park– College and Lowell. A pretty bridge over a pond, lots of trees. Gorgeous in the fall.

Sante Fe Commons Park– This park has some stone and brick buildings that would be wonderful accents.

South Lake Park–  7601 W 86th Street. This park has lots, of trees, a walking trail centered around a lake and a little dock.

Maple Hills Park– Lots of green space, a pretty wooden fence, and pops of orange in the fall.

Old Downtown Overland Park– Such a charming area. It has a quaint feel with lots of color and brick. Great if you are looking for a more urban look. Have dinner afterward at one of their many great restaurants.

Deanna Rose Farmstead- With a country and farm feel, this is a great setting for children’s portraits. You will want to choose a weekday, as it does get very busy. But where else could you get a great image of your child feeding a baby goat?
