All of That Hair

Mom asked me if we should comb his hair and I thought it was just perfect the way it was. It’s got body and texture, how lucky this little guy at just a week old. Look at all of this hair! He was just adorable. He just rocked his newborn session.

I had a blast photographing his chubby cheeks and that sweet little pout of his! With a bit of cuddling, feeding, and patience we were able to get so many great photos!

Mom really gave me free rein in styling this session, which I just love! I used a pale blue damask backdrop, with a yellow blanket that I just picked up. It’s fun to put unexpected colors together, taking into account the coloring of the baby. I am loving his dark hair against the more pale yellow. So pretty. I love bringing a contrast point into photos. I also love how his hair just sticks up in places, looking so natural and relaxed.

He let me pose him like a champion. I tend to get some natural poses first for safe shots, just in case baby happens to wake up. We take baby steps in shooting newborn sessions. It’s well worth the time put in when you see your images!
