It was a gorgeous morning outside for a shoot.  Not too hot, not too cold for this grandparent and family session. It’s something that I like to call “no weather”. That perfect weather when you can wear whatever you like and still be comfortable.  We have been so lucky with the weather the last couple of weeks for all of my outdoor shoots.

I have photographed the youngest baby in this family a couple of times previously. She is an absolute doll and such a ham for the camera, always extremely easy to work with. We have become buddies by now! When mom called and wanted to me to photograph her sister, brother, parents and all of the grandkids out on their beautiful property in the country, I was so excited. I brought along this really fun teal blanket from Target that I found.

When we have extended family sessions, I like to do them in sections. I take portraits for each immediate family in several different poses, as well as the siblings and the grandkids. Of course, we do poses with the entire family as well. I also try to capture each kiddo individually. We’ll also do some “couple” shots if you like. It’s all about your preferences. In addition to poses, I like to get un-posed images with people interacting with each other. These are more candid images and people often like those as much or if not more than the poses.

Will you just look at the eyes on these kiddos? They are the prettiest shade of blue and they were all wearing blue, which really made those eyes “pop”.
