My First Newborn of 2015

Welcome to 2015! I have been a Kansas City newborn photographer for eight whole years now. Excited for this upcoming year of business. I have a lot of blogging to catch up on from 2014, but I just couldn’t wait to post the first newborn from 2015! I had a busy Christmas season in the studio and took a few weeks for family time over Christmas break. Lots of cookies were made, (and eaten), many Legos were built. If anyone has a good system to organize Legos, let me know. I have the relegated to the playroom. There is a shelf, there are containers. Now what? LOL.

The Teeny Client

I had the pleasure of being little Aubrey’s newborn photographer. She had so much hair and these rosy, pink cheeks.  Just perfection. She was a little princess, down to her teeny toes and regal stature. I remember mom planned this one well in advance and came into the studio for a meeting before she was even showing! I love it when a mom is so excited about her baby and her session and likes to have everything planned, and in order, I was the same way.

Backdrops and Props

Her mom brought a few things from her nursery. I love to coordinate wall portraits to go in the nursery! Her nursery is in pale pink and golds. Mom had a vision of a huge portrait over her bed we had in mind when planning the session. The thing I LOVED about decorating the nurseries in my home was executing that vision I had. The theme, the Pottery Barn details, creating wall art. When the baby is 3-4, then they are going to start begging you to put Dora or Spongebob decals on their walls, until then it can be pretty as a picture!
