Kansas City Cake Smash Photo Session
The Client
It seems like Elliot was just in our Blue Springs studio for his newborn session yesterday and here we are for his long-awaited smash cake session. He still has that sweet little baby face with great big eyes and full, squishy cheeks. It’s been so fun to see his family every few months this year and he has surely kept us entertained at his sessions.
First We Have a Series of Portraits
He did great for each section of his one-year session. He participated in posing by showing the camera how he can stand up while holding on to things. He fell in love with my little red chair, which was just his size. So cute. I love overalls on boys. His are by OshKosh.
He Smashes
When mom sat that cake in front of him it was the funniest thing I have seen in a while. Elliot was hysterical with this cake. We captured so many conflicting emotions during his little cake smash.
“Oh, there is cake on my hands.”
“Wow, cake on my belly.”
“I’m blowing kisses in the air over this cake deliciousness.”
“Get this cake away from me.”
“It’s too close, I think it might want to eat ME.”
“I’ll try it again.”
“Nope, nope, take it away, I tell you!”
One second, he was curious. The next, the cake was not allowed in a 3-foot radius of him. I think we laughed so hard that there were tears.
