The Stories Behind the Images

Twins and Tutus

Twins and tutus? Yes, please! These little girls were just happy, happy, happy! They really had a special bond with each other that was so sweet. I loved the little feather headbands that mom brought in with them. They reminded me of flapper head dressings. Mom also made their little tutus, which were such a pretty shade of pink. I actually had made a tutu for newborns the same way back in 2007. It really is as easy as cutting strips of fabric and tying them around a ribbon. That is my kind of project!

One thing I noticed right away was that when you set them next to one another. They will reach out to each other, whether they put a hand on an arm or a chunky thigh. It’s like they are making sure they are still there. So CUTE! Just like newborn twins, they are easy to photograph together because they comfort each other and keep each other calm and secure.

As far as wardrobe, for this age, I have always believed that less is more. Baby skin is just not something that needs to be covered, in my opinion!
