K State Wedding Theme in Kansas City | Unity Temple
My clients are really fun people. Driving home from Lauren & Matt’s wedding last night, I thought, “That was really, really fun.” Who thinks that on their way home from work? And who gets to have cake and chocolate covered strawberries while they work? Seriously, best job ever. There are many hours of editing after the fun day, but really, I couldn’t ask to do something I love more.
Unity Temple was buzzing with weddings yesterday. I was in the chapel in which Lauren and Matt were getting married in. The groomsmen from another wedding were hanging out in there because their chapel was much hotter. I asked them where their getting ready room was and said I would be up in a bit. So one of them says, “What for?” and they laugh. I reply, “Getting ready portraits?” They were not my groomsmen. Figured this out when I didn’t see Matt anywhere.
Lauren looked amazing, I loved her updo and the dress. The wedding was peppered with gorgeous summer flowers and the music was upbeat and fun.
There is always a “gulp” part of the wedding that gets me a little teary. At this one, it was the moment when Lauren said, “I have loved you since the first time I met you, I have always loved you.” Sorry, if I am misquoting, it was something along those lines. It was SUCH a great moment.
Of course, I have lots of traditional shots, but this couple wanted a little quirky as well. Congratulations, you two! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding, much appreciation!
